Rules for Ladder
You may only challenge
players within 4 ranking spots of you.
Players must make every effort to make
and accept proper challenges both upward and downward.
If the lower ranked player wins the match, the players swap spots on the ladder.
Players that do not play
a match for 2 weeks will drop 3 spots in the rankings.
Players that do not play
a match for 4 weeks will be dropped to the bottom of the ladder.
Players should try
to play at least once a week or more either challenge or challenged.
We recommend participants not to play
the same opponent exclusively in back-to-back matches.
If a match is interrupted for any
reason, including time, it may be continued to completion at another time by
agreement of both players
Players that sign up
before the start of the ladder session will be randomly given a position on the
ladder once the ladder session begins.
Anyone signing up after the ladder
session starts will be placed at the bottom of the ladder.
Ladder sessions will be
3 months long starting on January1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st.
Sign up for a session will begin 1
month before the start date.
You may continue to sign
up for a session of the ladder for 2 months after it starts.
View the players in your
division's contact information on the Player's Contact
Information web page.
The winner of the match should enter results on the
Enter Match Results web page.
All results must be entered before the end of the current session.
The winner of the match is responsible to report and record the match. He/she
has to do it within 30 hours of the completion of the match so the result are
accurate and allows the other players to challenge the appropriate opponent.
The player that issues the challenge is responsible for
contacting the other player to set up a time and location for the match and for
providing a new can of tennis balls.
The time and place
of the match must be mutually acceptable
When a match is won, as a result of one player retiring, the score shall be
reported as a default by the retiring player.
The matches will be best out of three sets. Add scoring. Tie break
at 6-6. If both players agree, no-add scoring can be used and/or a 10
point tie break can be played in place of a third set.
For the ladder to be a
success, it requires the cooperation of all individuals. This is not a USTA sanctioned
event. Your
rating will not be affected. This is a social event.
We ask each
participant to show sportsmanship.
GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY TENNIS!!
